There could be more detail in your research around real bands who are relevant to the hypothetical artists, particularly in terms of their audience and institutional contexts. In addition, don't forget to embed the videos referenced rather than simply linking to URLs.

Proposal for New Music Artist and Research

Band Name: Paper Hearts

Band's Single: Young Love

Band's Formation: 4 guys, 1 girl

Genre: Indie Rock

Band's Image: Young, good-looking, organic performance band with a 'preppy/geeky' image that appeals to a younger audience.

Target Audience: 14-22 years old, mainly female audience

The image for our band was influenced by bands such as the Mystery Jets, Vampire Weekend and Franz Ferdinand all of whom share an 'organic up-bringing' and have a target audience of around the same age as ours.

The track we have chosen is actually a single from the band The Mystery Jets (right) and some of our video's ideas are taken from the effective stylings of their original music video too.

We liked the band's 'fun-loving' and colourful style and we think those aspects will appeal to our target audience.

Vampire Weekend (left) also incorporate the 'preppy' look in their image and although they look older than the band we have in mind I think their image is still something like what we want. Again they used lots of colours and their white background is something we liked too.

And last but not least was the band Franz Ferdinand, they have the same sort of style and the same formation as the other bands and though their sound is a little heavier than the music of the other two bands they are still the sort of genre and image we are looking for in our band.

Initial Idea 3

Band Name: Metro Station
Song Name: Shake It
Star Image: American pop-rock band, flirting with the dangerous look but performing more 'gentle' songs

Rough Draft for Treatment:
1)A club/rave
2)Milkshakes
3)A girl teaching a guy to shake
Opening beats; in a club crammed with teenagers, band on stage at words ‘’Lets drop’’everyone starts dancing and jumping.
A girl appears in the middle of the club, lead singer is singing to her, she doesn’t notice.
He grabs her arm and she stares at him till he lets go, he tries to dance with her, she wags her finger at him, etc... throughout bridge (written in orange above).
At the chorus she holds his hips and makes him shake, people stop dancing to look, then everyone copies.
Their now in a bedroom fully clothed and about to kiss during the second verse with jump cuts to the club scene where everyone else is still raving and the band is playing.
At bridge he tries to kiss her neck she says no, he tries to take off her top, she stops him etc... until the chorus when she makes him ‘shake’ and do a dance for her.
Jump cuts to a milkshake being shaken and other cuts of the rave scene with the band playing are shown until eventually she gives in and kisses him so that they fall on the bed.

Artist's Image: Traditional songs brought up-to-date by his modern, 'nerdy' look

Rough Draft for Treatment:
Fingers clicking. Hands clapping, fast zoom out to show a bit of wooden floor and some chairs stacks up on a wall. [Bar]
Cut to man lying in bed. Wakes up with last click, sits up in cold messy room, wearing just underwear. Gets up looks for clothes in wardrobe throwing clothes everywhere, spins into some jeans and t-shirt, looks down at old shoes and shakes head.
At chorus camera flicks up to show gleaming new shoes on top of a cupboard, shoes start tap dancing.
Shoes then fly down to mans feet and room transforms. Sun shines and everything looks better.
Jump cut to the bar where staff are dancing while un stacking chairs and wiping tables.
Picture turns upside down then upright and reveals man in bed again.
He wakes up as 2nd verse begins. Room is messy again. He walks into kitchen in the dark and finds himself in the bar where everyone is dancing.
The shoes fly into the room and mans clothes are transformed and he dances too.
When the rhythm changes a girl appears in middle of the room and man dances with her- shown in slow motion- to a tango of sorts.
When beat picks up swing dancing continues in real time and girls are thrown into the air, people are smiling, drinking and having fun.
The shoes are helping the man dance- they look cartoon like.
At last line the picture flips again and man is back in his bedroom, shoes off (they are sleeping) and he places them back on the cupboard then goes to sleep.

Initial Idea 1

Band: Vampire Weekend
Song: Giving Up The Gun
Band Image: Indie Rockers from New York formed in 2006. ‘Preppy’, gentle, ‘geek’ look.

Three elements;
1) the band in a garden playing their instruments
2) four school girls following the band
3) a balloon room
Opening 16 bars show cuts of each band member in the garden playing their instruments.
As each triangle chimes a school girl pops out from behind a tree watching the band.
Singing begins on first chorus and band is playing. We see School Girls (S.G’s) giggling and planning something.
First verse and camera cuts to balloon room where two long balloons have been made into a 1 and a 7 and are shown to camera, person holding them can’t be seen.
Back to garden. At bridge as base come in the girls run out from behind tree, band sees them and gets up to run.
Band finds three child bicycles and three of them peddle away leaving drummer to run. Girls still following.
Balloon room is getting filled to the brim with number-balloons and ordinary ones.
During instrumental band hides behind buses and lamp posts and other outdoor things while girls search for them
They find a door marked (something..?) go in to the dark room.
The lights get turned on all of a sudden at drum beat and the room full of balloons is revealed.
Four beautiful older girls emerge (the bands respective girlfriends)
The school girls come giggling in and are given balloons as rewards for getting band here.
Everyone takes some balloons and they run outside to let them off into the sky as the repetitive ending of the song is heard ‘’go on, go on, go on..’’

Introduction to A2 course

This year in our Media studies classes we will be creating a music video for a brand new band that we will also have created, here is the brief we were given:

You will need to meet the following brief;
-A promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video, together with two of the following three options:
*A website homepage for the band;
*A cover for it's release on DVD
*A magazine advertisement for the DVD
The deadline for all of this is the end of term- December 16th.

Thus begins the chaos!....
